Kevin Meunier and Kenny Heckel win $10,000!
Kevin Meunier and Kenny Heckel won it all last year. The duo from Indiana won the Ranger Comanche Classic and with that win, along with a a brand new boat, they were awarded an entry into this year's Lucas Oil Tournament Of Champions. They took advantage of their qualification and walked away worth $10,000 before event attempting to repeat as champions in the Ranger Comanche Classic.
They beat out a field of 146 teams by catching a limit weighing 22.25lbs. Kenny Heckel recounted the day and explained that the team really did not catch many fish, "we didn't catch very many, but they were the right ones. I think we only caught seven keepers all day."
Fishing just above Paris, TN, the team focused on secondary areas as fish were returning to deeper water after spawning. "We weren't all the way out to the main river, just secondary points and things like that," stated Heckel. The team caught fish on several baits Strike King 5XD crankbaits, football jigs and a Gambler Big EZ swimbait to capture the win.

As a reminder, the Lucas Oil Tournament of Champions is a “FREE” tournament!!
There is Seven ways to qualify for this event.
1. Divisional Champion of any USA BASSIN Division.
2. Be the highest finishing team from your state, based on total points in the National Points Standings.
3. Set a 2014 season record in the National Points Standings, (Highest Season Weight, Biggest Bass, Highest Winning Weight or the Lowest Winning Weight)
4. Or finish the season with 1000 points or more.
5. Finish in the top 3 at a Regional Event
6. Be the highest USA BASSIN team at Lucas Oil Open Event and finish the season with 250 points or more!!
7. Win a Classic during the 2014 season
