West Michigan State Regional

Aaron Feeback and Don Watt win at Muskegon.

Muskegon Lake was the site of the West Michigan State Regional, yet White Lake was the winning lake. The run to White Lake required leaving Muskegon, entering Lake Michigan and then entering White Lake. The long journey was the key for the top two teams as well as others who attempted to win the event.

The team of Aaron Feeback and Don Watts won the event with a mixed bag weighing 18.69lbs.  The team weighed four smallmouth and one largemouth but caught both species throughout the day. The trip to get there wasn't easy though, "it took us an hour to get there and an hour and fourty five minutes to get back since Lake Michigan was so rough. It was only a 12 mile run, but took much longer than normal," said Feeback.

Once at White Lake, the team fished Kustom Kicker swimjigs for largemouth and an Eerie Darter on a Kustom Kicker Power Lock Ball Jig for the smallmouth. They had two key areas, one for the largemouth and one for the smallmouth and fished both throughout the day for a total of 15 keepers.

Second Place was Clifton and Bert Jackson with a limit for 15.51lbs, including the big bass of the event at 5.23lbs.

Third Place wasChad Worvey and Chris Maynard with a 14.58lb limit.

Congrats to the top finishers! U.S.A. Bassin would like to thank all of the teams for their participation this year.
