Kansas State Regional

Nathan Kozlowski and Lance Maldanado win!

The Kansas Regional was an interesting event format this year; two days and two seperate lakes. Day 1 was held on Wilson Lake and Day 2 was held on Milford Lake. This posed an added challenge as one lake is known for smallmouth and one is better known for largemouth.

The team of Nathan Kozlowski and Lance Maldanado were able to crack the code and win the tournament. They ended the first day in 11th place, but just over two pounds out of the lead. "We caught smallmouth on the first day with topwaters and lost a few that would have helped," added Kozlowski. The second day was tougher fishing and they were the only team to weigh a limit, vaulting them to the win. The second day consisted of largemouth caught on buzzbaits and Smack Daddy Elite Series tubes fished around grass and brush.

Second place was Terry and Drew Blackwood. They were consisting weighing 8lbs and change each day, even with just three fish on Sunday. Their fish came on topwaters both days, using a spook for both lakes.

Third place was Chris Call and Edward Spencer. They had over nine pounds on Wilson which put them in 5th after the first day. They were catching smallmouth by fishing the inside grass edges with Zoom Horny Toads. They weighed two fish for 4.82 at Milford, but had enough to stay in third place.

Congrats to the top finishers! U.S.A. Bassin would like to thank all of the teams for their participation this year.
