Wisconsin Regional

Team Capasso takes the win.

The 2014 Wisconsin Regional was held on Pewaukee Lake out of the Public Boat Launch. The fishing was good as many teams weighed in big smallmouth bass.

The winning team were brothers Cris and Vaughn Capasso. They had a 17.80lb bag that included four smallmouth and one largemouth, including a 6.07. That big smallmouth was not even the big bass of the tournament as a 6.36lb fish was caught by Team Hewkin.

The Capasso team focused on one area and fished it for the entire event. "It was a flat with a grassline in around 10-14 feet of water and there were some rockpiles mixed in with the grass. We caught two in the morning on a jig and then used a dropshot the rest of the day," added Vaughn Capasso. They utilized 5 and 6lb line to get more bites. It almost cost them as they broke off a good fish close to the boat. Even with that, they still walked away with the win.

2nd place was Mike Roeser and Mike Gonet with 17.33lbs.

3rd Place was John Gorham and Art Mensik with 14.45lbs.

Congrats to the top finishers! U.S.A. Bassin would like to thank all of the teams for their participation this year.
