Dixie Marine Ohio River Regional

Mahon and Boles take the title.

The Dixie Marine Ohio River Regional was held on October 6th out of the White Oak Ramp. The event featured 42 teams vying for the guaranteed first-place prize of $1,500. The duo also took home an extra $1,000 for running a Garmin as part of the Garmin Grand Giveaway.

When the final bag was weighed in, the team of Brian Mahon and Tommy Boles were declared the winners with a limit weighing 7.95lbs. Their bag was helped by a 3.33lb bass.

Their day started off unusually with a broken water line and some craziness at their campsite, but they persevered and ended up winning the event. "It started pretty bad, but we had a pretty good day. We caught a fish here and there and ended up with nine keepers on the day," said Boles.

They flipped wood with two soft-plastic baits made locally, one is called a Woog and the other a Sweeper. Both of these baits were in the Pumpkinseed color and were the key to catching their winning bag.
