Winter series Finale:
The final tournament of the winter series on Kentucky did not disappoint. Nice weather and a some good catches brought to the scale made for an awesome tournament. The story of the day was John Hawks and Bradley Puckett who took first place with 17.03lbs and big fish with a 7.04lb largemouth. Puckett has been unstoppable with three tournament wins in two weeks with three different partners on two lakes. Shannon Moats and Blake Lehman took second place with 12.63 lbs. Congratulations to our winners and we look forward to kicking off the spring series next Sunday!
What started out as a relatively calm, warmer than usual Sunday morning in January, with nine boats in the third tournament of the winter series, gradually became a battle of rough conditions. A slight west wind turned from the northwest and created an ocean like Kentucky lake. Overcoming the rough water conditions is one thing, but the top two teams also did it solo. Taking first place with 15.14lbs was Luke Smith who was picking up the slack for his partner who was not able to make this tournament. Second place and big fish went to Joe Johnson who brought three fish weighing 12.24lbs with a 6.31lb big un’. Team Moats/Lehman brought 2 fish weighing 4.32lbs and a storied ride back to the ramp they won’t soon forget. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all that participated. We look forward to seeing you at the next one on February 14th.
