There will be two off limits locations for the 2026 season:
1st off limits location: The Cheater Creek/Dredge ditch bridge. You may fish the front and underneath the bridge, but your baits and boat cannot pass underneath the bridge.
2nd off limits: The White/Pulaski county line up in the northern part of the river that flows down into Lake Shafer. This is easily identifiable by the power lines that go across the river up there. I will do my best to have that area marked with something identifiable on the bank as well for this season.
2026 Freeman/Shafer Division Notes:
On behalf of myself (Kurtis Bowsher), I am so excited to be part of such a great group of teams for the 2026 season! This division has a strong group of teams and I aim to keep it that way and improve it any way that I can! There have been a few people that have asked with the way that the bass fishing world is now, and i'm just making you all aware now that I will NOT be imposing any forward facing sonar restrictions for this trail at all throughout the season. The 2026 sechedule can be found within our division and opens tabs along with the regional being scheduled for 10/24/2026 on Shafer. If you are planning on prepaying for your tournament entry before hand via check in the mail or some other form of payment, please reach out to me before doing so. I can be contacted anytime via text or call at 574-581-0812. The entry for our tournaments is $105, plus $15 ramp fee if we're on Shafer or $20 ramp fee if we're on Freeman. Which comes out to $120 (Shafer) or $125 (Freeman) for everything including big bass pot and the Uncle Sam Bass challenge.
Both the ramps that we will use for our tournaments this year have a $20 launch fee, but Joe at the Big Monon ramp is giving us discount and only charging us $15. If you are interested, ramp passes for both the Big Monon ramp on Shafer and the Tall Timbers ramp on Freeman are $250 for the 2026 season. If you would like a pass for either ramp, please don't hesitate to reach out and I will direct you to whom you need to contact to get one.
If anyone has any questions or issues please feel free to reach out to me person, on our Facebook page (USA Bassin Lake Shafer/Lake Freeman), or via call or text at 574-581-0812 anytime. We're looking forward to seeing all of you and kicking off the USA Bassin season here soon!
Best of luck and tight lines to all!
-Kurtis
