Dr. Lures is owned and operated by Don and Joyce Woods and was established in 2006.  Don and Joyce are part of the USA Bassin family and have taken part in helping USA Bassin run our Classic Championships for years.

Don Woods, aka Dr. Lures has been making spinnerbaits, jigs, and buzzbaits since 1973 when he joined his first Bassmaster Chapter in Fayetteville, NC while assigned to the 82d Airborne Division at Ft Bragg, NC.  In order to afford to compete, a fishing partner allowed him to use his molds and taught Don how to make his own baits.  Don’s passion for the bass fishing sport and lure making has grown ever since.

Dr. Lures is a small rural family owned business with your satisfaction in mind as well as a strong desire to grow.  Don’s mission statement for Dr. Lures is quite simple and emulated in the way he treats every angler: To provide the highest quality handcrafted baits to you, the customer. Your satisfaction is Don and Joyces goal.

With over 30 years of lure making under his belt he can provide any bass angler with a winning combination of lures.  Don sponsors divisions for USA Bassin in Indiana and is completely dedicated to USA Bassin’s amateur fishing format.
