Brownie's Patoka Lake Regional #1

The Brownie's Patoka Lake Regional #1 was held out of the Newton Stewart South Ramp on September 16th. This event featured a $5,000 guaranteed first place prize and attracted 136 teams. The fishing was tougher than normal for Patoka, but Greg Hoskinson and Allen Boyd put together a 14.25lb limit and took the top prize.

The team reported having a tough practice and that the difficult fishing carried over into the event. "We caught one right away and then went a few hours without a bite. We only had four fish as we were heading back to the ramp for the weigh-in and we were 1/2 mile away and made one last stop and caught our fifth keeper," said Hoskinson. "Before that fish, we were just satisfied to know that we probably made the championship, but when we went in and heard 13lbs was leading we thought we might have a shot to win."

The team fished vertical timber, stumps and any wood they could find with Prowler tubes.

Congrats Greg, Allen and all of the teams who qualified for the championships on Kentucky Lake.
