Co-Ed Classic Winners

Co-Ed Classic Winners

Wednesday, September 13, 2017

This year's Co-Ed Classic was held on Lake Barkley out of the State Park Little River ramp. 40 teams fished this event and when the dust settled, the team of Mark and Cindy King took the top prize.

They had a two-day total of 26.32, 14.10lbs on the first day and 12.22lbs on the second day. "We made a pretty good run but stayed in Barkley. We caught them shallow on crankbaits both days," he says. "The first day we only had seven bites all day and it took nearly all day to get a limit, but they were solid fish. We stayed in one area and the fish would move up every once in a while."

The team used 1.5 squarebill crankbaits and the best success came when they would see shad activity on the surface. "The bass were pushing the shad up on a rock wall and that is where we caught them both days," he shares.

The team fishes Co-Ed Divisions with USA Bassin and enjoys the format. "We look forward to the events and the Co-Ed Classic every year. It is great to be able to fish together," he says.
