Lucas Oil TOC Big Bass

Lucas Oil TOC Big Bass

Tuesday, May 09, 2017

History was made at the recent Lucas Oil Tournament Of Champions on Kentucky Lake. The team of Steve and Cole Floyd brought in a giant bass that stands as the biggest bass caught in any USA Bassin event during the annual Championship Week. It weighed 8.92lbs and was caught by Cole Floyd.

It happened right away during the tournament as Steve Floyd recalls. "It was about the fifth cast of the day. We were fishing with Strike King 6XD crankbaits on the main river in about 10 feet of water," he says. His son 20-year old son Cole caught the lunker with his 7'11" heavy Hammer cranking rod and lost another that was just as big. "That was the bad thing, the other one was as big or bigger and we lost it right at the boat," says the elder Floyd. The team finished the event in 5th place.
