Tom's Marine Cherokee Lake Regional

The Tom's Marine Cherokee Lake Regional was held out of the 25E bridge ramp on October 23rd and featured a $2,500 guaranteed first place prize. There were many great bags of smallmouth bass weighed in at this event as 34 teams did their best to take the top prize.

Finishing in 1st place was Josh Roark and Jonathan Marshall with a limit weighing 15.42lbs. Included in their bag was a 3.57lb fish and the rest of the fish were all close to three pounds. "We caught eight keepers all day. Some early and then we caught three more late between 1:00 and 3:00," said Roark. They used topwater baits to fool their fish and said the fishing should only improve in the coming weeks. "It has been warm here still so the fish really haven't had a chance to get fat. The lake usually takes more weight to win this time of year," he said.
