Latest News Patoka Lake Regional #1![]() Tuesday, September 15, 2015 The Patoka Lake Regional #1 was held this past Saturday. 136 teams battled for the guaranteed first prize of $5,000. After all was said and done, three teams weighed in over 20lbs and took the top three spots in the event. The team of John Schroering and Charlie Hentrup took the win with 21.46lbs. They had one that weighed 5.75lbs and the other four were solid keepers. They had a good morning bite and then caught several more later in the day for a total of close to ten keepers throughout the day. "It was a pretty good day for us. We focused on fishing 8-14ft of water with Carolina-rigged soft plastics. The key was using bigger soft plastics to target the bigger fish," added Schroering. For the win they took home over $5,500. Second place was Jeremy Knepp and BJ Worland with 20.85lbs. They caught nine or ten keepers throughout the day and experienced a fast start and another flurry later in the day. "We caught five or six right away and then a few more after 1:00. We were fishing water between 2-7ft and caught them on Carolina-rigs, jigs, worms and spinnerbaits," said Knepp. Third place was Ryan Pfau and Adam Knies with a limit weighing 20.12lbs. They also had the biggest bass of the day at 6.03lbs. "We only had six bites all day and caught five of them. We tried for bigger fish in deeper water that was 15-20ft with jigs and caught them throughout the day," said Pfau. Top 10 Finishers:
