Latest News Kansas State Regional![]() Friday, October 04, 2024 In the past, a significant number of German and Bohemian settlers established their homes near the present-day Wilson Lake, transforming the town of Wilson into the "Czech capital" of Kansas. These settlers played a pivotal role in converting the prairie landscape into pastures and agricultural fields, while also adapting to the local terrain. Wilson Lake is located in Kansas, straddling the border between Russell and Lincoln Counties. Constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers primarily for flood control, the reservoir also serves as a vital habitat for wildlife and a popular site for recreational activities. Surrounding it are several parks, including Wilson State Park, and the lake is abundant with various fish species such as black bass, channel catfish, and crappie. To us, this sounds like a pretty good spot to host the USA Bassin Kansas State Regional! During the USA Bassin Regional Tournament at Wilson Lake, the team of James Casper and Clint Drake secured victory with their 5-bass limit, earning a place in the event’s history. Finishing in second place was the team of Brandon McDade and Jordan Johnson, while Chuck Garder and Derek Labarr completed the top three in third position. We extend our gratitude to all the anglers who participated in the Kansas State Regional Tournament, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Bass Cat Classic.
