Taylorsville Lake Regional

Taylorsville Lake Regional

Monday, November 06, 2023

The Taylorsville Lake Regional was tough, with no limits coming to the scales. The team of Carl Calvert and Allen Jaggers were able to win with just two fish. Thankfully, one of those bass was a giant and their 6.76lb fish was the big bass of the day.

"That six-something was our first fish of the day," said Calvert. "We caught seven fish all day but just two keepers. We figured out a pattern late in the day, but it was too late to catch any more because we didn't figure it out until the last hour."

While their big bass came on a jig, they found a good afternoon spinnerbait bite running pockets late in the day to catch some shorts, their second keeper, and also losing one over three pounds.

"Losing that fish hurt and I thought it was going to ruin our chances of doing well," said Calvert. "I was shocked we won it, to be honest. We thought it would take around 15 pounds to win this one."
