Co-Ed Classic Winners

Co-Ed Classic Winners

Tuesday, October 31, 2023

The annual Co-Ed Classic was held this past weekend on Barren River Lake and featured a guaranteed first-place prize of $2,500. Taking the win was Scott and Tina Sagrecy, who also won this event in 2021. They had a two-day total of 16.38 lbs to win this year's tournament.

They recapped the event and said the fishing was challenging both days. "It's been super tough out there lately and the fish are in that transition period," said Scott Sagrecy. "The fishing was tough, but the first day we had 30 or 35 fish but just 5 that were keepers. After the first day, we were a couple of pounds behind the leaders."

The second day, they found the number of fish to be less and they caught around a dozen fish with just three big enough to weigh in. "We were lucky we had a good first day to keep us there because we only caught three keepers, but my wife caught a clutch 3-pounder which was the difference for us," he said. "We fished there slowly with Texas-rigged creature baits and focused on channel swing banks. We had one 100-yard stretch that was the best for us both days."
