Latest News Jackson Kayak Classic![]() Wednesday, October 18, 2023 The Jackson Kayak Classic was a two-day event held on Kentucky Lake and featured kayak anglers launching from the ramp of their choice. Taking the win was Hank Newson with 152.25" for 10 bass, which was good enough to pull out the win in a tight race. "The first day we didn't have much current and I didn't get a lot of bites before 9:30 a.m.," said Newson. "I started fishing some riprap and found a group of them and ended up getting my limit by around 12:30 p.m. After that, I left my area and went fishing for a kicker but never got it," He found himself in 6th place after the first day with 76.25" and started Day 2 with a weather change and someone sitting on his best spot. "It was super cold that morning and I went to my first spot and there was a bass boat sitting right on it," he said. "I went across the channel and changed my squarebill to a chartreuse color and found another group of fish. I was lucky I was forced to change spots because I found a new spot and had by limit by 9:30 a.m. again." After catching his limit, he let his area get a break and continued to rotate in and out throughout the day, catching 76" and vaulting to the win. Top 5
