Latest News Cave Run Regional![]() Monday, October 02, 2023 The Cave Run Regional featured tough fishing and none of the teams in the field were able to fill out their limits, but James Hendrix and Jayden Willoughby took the win with four bass for 6.12lbs. Hendrix, who fishes with his 16-year-old cousin Jayden, said the day was full of stress but they managed to win. First, it was a fog delay that hampered their early morning topwater bite. "We went to our first spot where we usually catch them on topwater and fished there for an hour and only caught one small keeper," said Hendrix. "Then we went to one of our brushpiles and didn't catch anything. After that, we were trolling through a marina and heard fish blowing up, and I cast over there and lost one about five pounds. The day started pretty rough and we didn't think we had a chance after that." They stuck with it in that area after losing the big one and caught a solid keeper over three pounds and another keeper to turn the day around. "After that, we went back to the brush and caught another one," he said. "Then, we had boat trouble and barely made it back in time. We made it with a few minutes to spare and somehow squeezed out the win." Top 5
