Latest News Rend Lake Regional Monday, September 18, 2023 The Rend Lake Regional was held September 10th and featured over 100 teams vying for the guaranteed $5,000 payday to the winners. The fight for the win was a close one with the father and son duo of Bill and Dan Ernst edging out Greg Mullins and Tammy Jordan by just .05 pounds! Having won the last regular season event in the division, Team Ernst had a good idea of what the fish were doing on Rend Lake. They fished the same exact way as they did in that event. "We've been fishing that same exact stretch for the last month and catching them right there," said Bill Ernst. "But, we had to fish community holes to start the day and wait until the fish positioned them and they'd bite." They stuck shallow, focusing away from the bank but in 3-feet of water. "During practice, we were catching them all on a spinnerbait but there was no wind during the tournament," he said. "During the tournament, we caught them all by flipping and slowly dragging jigs."
