The USA BASSIN Director's Classic was held on August 28th on Lake Monroe. Directors from many divisions were able to compete against one another for a top prize of $5,000. The winning team was Randy Brumfield and Paul Ward. Brumfield is the assistant director of IN-39 and IN-71. A day after the win, Brumfield was still very excited about the triumph. "It still hasn't sunk in yet," he said. "I've donated plenty of money over the years, so this feels good." To get their winning total of 15.78lbs, the team had to work hard all day long. "We only caught six keepers and seven fish all day," said Brumfield. "We had our limit by around 10:30 and it went flat after that. It was a grind and we only culled once after the morning." They stuck shallow, targeting wood cover and pitching and flipping was their winning technique. "It was basically flipping and pitching a jig," they said. "All of the fish we caught were up shallow, less than 3 feet deep." Congrats to the winners and all of the top finishers! Top 5 Results
