Latest News Patience is ColdFriday, March 04, 2011 Just trying to get my wife to be a fish on the end of my line in the garage is really tough. Last year we actually had a really warm spring. I got to go fishing before I went to the Classic. This year put us back into reality. The day of the picture; March 4th Maine had temps from 6 to 24 below zero.
When you look at the boat you see that I might have to do some shoveling to get the boat out. I have been hoping for warm rain.
My partner Mike Merritt will be a little surprised by what he finds in Kentucky. He is one of the busiest people I know. I have lost count on the number of foster kids he has had over the years. He calls them all his kids. Right now he is working an hour away from home, selling the house he built and moving to camp. Yes that does mean he has to make it into a home. Two generators down and he’s still plugging.
He has orders from me that he has to call me once a week until we leave for Kentucky. I drove over to where he works and picked up some shelving for my shop. I gave him a list of things he needed to order. I didn’t leave him a big list. I think we will have to pick up the extra on the way.
The winters are long, but the anticipation of going to the Classic just slows the days down. A little over a month left and it seems like its January.
I think I have paid my dues as a green horn. This is my third trip to the Classic and at 10,000 miles you would think I could put something together. I should be able to put fish in the livewell during the tournament this year.
May you all have a safe trip to the Classic and the Tracker Cup and good fishing.
Send us some warm weather!
