You Could Fish the Bassmaster Classic

You Could Fish the Bassmaster Classic

Wednesday, June 05, 2019

The Bassmaster Classic is without a doubt the top bass fishing tournament in the world. All eyes are on this event and it is a dream of anglers everywhere. Now, anglers fishing USA Bassin have a shot through the Bassmaster Team Championship. Details are below.

Kentucky's Matt Roberston took this route to the 2019 Bassmaster Classic and is a living example that this is possible. He's fished USA Bassin events for years and just won the Big Bass Bonanza on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes.

We caught up with him to get his feedback on the Bassmaster Classic Championship. "I am a regular working guy and I'm out here pressure washing right now. It is possible to make the Classic from this level," he said.

When asked about his experience at the Bassmaster Classic he had a hard time putting it into words. "It was by far the best event I have ever fished and I will never have a fishing experience that will replace it. It was surreal," he said. "It is a long road to get there but anyone can do it through team trails like USA Bassin and I encourage everyone to go for it."

Congrats to Matt for making it and hopefully we have another USA Bassin member fishing the next one.

Here’s how it will work:

  • All teams that finish the 2019 Season (Sept 1, 2018 thru Aug. 31, 2019) with 1500 points or more will be eligible to compete for a (1 team) entry into the 2020 Bassmaster Team Championship.
  • The (1 team) entry into the 2020 Bassmaster Team Championship will be awarded to the highest finishing eligible team in the 2020 Lucas Oil Tournament of Champions, held April 28, 2020 on Lake Chickamauga.
  • No Added Fee!! USA BASSIN will pay the entry fee and registration (a $1,000 value) for this team.

About the Bassmaster Team Championship

Founded in 2014, the Bassmaster Team Championship fields approximately 175 two-angler teams each year. The teams qualify by winning championships or performance points titles on one of dozens of B.A.S.S. sanctioned team tournament circuits. The teams compete for two days to earn the title of top team in the nation. Next, members of the Top 3 teams fish solo for two more days, with the winner of that phase qualifying for the Bassmaster Classic.
