Latest News KY/Barkley Big Bass Bonanza Wednesday, June 05, 2019 Matt Robertson had a pretty good weekend. On Saturday, he won a large event on Kentucky Lake and took home $7,000, but he was not done yet. He entered our Big Bass Bonanza with partner Wendell Anderson and they took home the top prize of $10,000 with a 6.44lb bass. They also claimed two other hourly wins for an extra $500. Oh, they also won this same event last year. Robertson said this big bass format takes a different mindset and that he and Anderson fished big baits only to try to trick bigger fish. "We threw big crankbaits and swimbaits all day and Wendell caught the big one on a 5" Scottsboro Tackle paddle tail swimbait," he said. The big one came in the 8-10 a.m. hour, but they also won second in the 6-8 a.m. time with a 5.74lb bass that was worth an extra $300. They weren't done yet and a 4.81 in the final time slot from noon to 2 p.m. gained them an additional $200.
