Latest News 2018 Ranger Aluminum Cup Winners![]() Monday, April 30, 2018 Bowlins Win the 2018 Ranger Aluminum Cup by Dominick Schenewerk USA Bassin father and son team of Lonnie and Jordan Bowlin won the 2018 Ranger Aluminum Cup Classic hosted on Kentucky Lake with a two-day total weight of 37.23 pounds. Keeping to a single bay on the south end of Kentucky Lake for both days of the event, the two sacked up their 17.50- and 19.73-pound limits flipping black/blue jigs and buzz baits in and around flooded bushes and wood. “We only had five keepers and caught three short fish on day one,” said Lonnie of Benton, IL. “However, the second day went a little bit smoother. We had five keepers really early then I ended up catching our 5-pound kicker by 11:30 am.” The duo stuck to the back of the bay, staying within eye distance of a creek, and focused making repeated casts to targeted bushes flooded with 1 to 4 feet of water. Despite having to take it extremely easy on the final trip back to the weigh-in due to both a busted trolling motor mount and a few loose bolts on their jack plate, Lonnie and Jordan made it in on time and held the hot seats until being crowned the champs. For their efforts, the Bowlins were awarded a certificate for an RT188 Ranger Boat with a 90HP Mercury Motor. “This is the first classic that me and my son have fished together,” said Lonnie. “And for me and him to win it was amazing. It was pretty special for the both of us.”
